Practice Structure

Our league practices are designed to bring our entire skater community together and are led by the dedicated members of the Testing & Training committee. These practices prioritize the fun and safety of all participants and aim to facilitate a smooth transition back to skating, mentorship and skill development and community building. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skater, our practices cater to all skill levels. At practice, we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and improve their roller derby skills. Join us as we come together, support one another, and enjoy the excitement of skating as a united league.

Members of the public who have not passed minimum skills or have not been evaluated for safe contact are invited to participate in practices, however they will be restricted to the non-contact portion of practice. They will still be required to meet ToRD skater expectations RE: insurance (or sign a waiver), vaccines, and gear/safety requirements.

Fees

There are two ways to pay for training:

  1. Monthly dues set at $40, which covers all practices for that calendar month. This resets at the start of the next month.
  2. A drop-in fee of $10 per practice. This also applies to the visiting skaters.

We do not wish for fees to be an obstacle for our members. If you require dues relief, please email the Exec: executive@torontorollerderby.com

All refs and NSOs are invited to come and practice their reffing/NSO skills at all practices free of charge! We hope to see you there!
